The History of the club...

Founded in 2008 Strikerz Football Academy has produced over 40 players who have represented the Bolton Town Team and over 30 players who have earned contracts at professional academies. Due to the incredible success of the academy, the natural progression was to build and develop a grass roots football club with the same moral values. In 2012 FC Strikerz was founded and we currently have over 400 children who are registered with the club and are thriving on their football journey: having fun, making friends and playing football.

That success has been achieved through the dedicated teaching methods of our Strikerz coaches and parent coaches who have been developed through the Strikerz system.

Strikerz endeavour to create exciting unpredictable players with the ability to express themselves on and off the pitch. We take children on a journey of learning through football which involves all aspects of the game as well as instilling strong moral values. 'Friends for life ' is what the Academy and football club strives for each day to make better footballers and better people.

The Strikerz Academy has been set up and developed by Dave Flitcroft who has an 18 year playing career and 10 year coaching experience to draw on: "I have used this experience to develop a unique training programme for children at all levels. My main experience I draw on comes from the teaching methods of my Dad before I started in professional football. Dad was the inspiration behind me setting up a development school for early years children, he was and still is my driving force. The passion he instilled in me ensures that everything we do at the Academy echoes his love and devotion of football."

"The flair, creativity, style, determination and love of the ball that dad possessed are the main ingredients that we try to instil in all the players we coach. My own philosophy has been developed from watching dad play and listening to ex players who played with and against 'Drag Back Johnny.' They all tell the same story of how it was near impossible to get the ball which was glued to his foot and that you needed a ball for dad and another for the other 21 players."

"Dad loved watching Brazillian football and the total football played by the Dutch, when he watched football he wanted to be entertained, his dedicated teaching methods have become mine and have given me the foundation to coach at all levels. Everyday I endevour to coach, mentor, inspire, motivate and develop everybody I teach. I want to reach as many people as I can with Dad's message."

My dream is to support and provide open access to football for all those who do not currently have the opportunity via the John Flitcroft Foundation ( JFF ).
