The Parent / Coach Role
Coaching usually starts with stepping up into a newly formed U7 team and taking forward a group of young players on their football journey - who knows where it will lead but it should be and will very exciting!
The club will ensure (and fund) parent coach volunteers to complete the basic level 1 FA coaching qualification, have appropriate CRC check and 1st aid training. This is done during the child's first season .
Fuller details are provided in this link -
For coaches who wish to develop further there are Higher qualifications that will help enhance their knowledge and abilities to take players and teams to the next level.
Please contact the club if you wish to register for any of these further courses as our Nike partnership and Charter Standard status give us access to special discounts and promotions.
This is what one of our parent / coaches - Craig Tyldesley (U10 Bulletz) - said about his decision to start coaching:
"I was a little apprehensive over taking over coaching my sons team as I had never coached before , but now I don't know what I would do on a Saturday morning , I love spending time coaching our children , I thrive off their energy. They are a credit to our parent group and club."
The transition between being a parent and then becoming a parent coach can still be daunting , so at FC Strikerz we have introduced a Professional coach who will support your coaching journey and help ease the initial challenges you may face.
